Christian Arts Trust was pleased to support Meditations for Holy Week, a moving and contemplative musical event held at St James’s Piccadilly. Conceived by composer and oboist Rachel Chaplin, it brought together international performers — including gospel soloist Alison Beck and pianist John Reid — for a powerful hour-long reflection on the Passion story, weaving scripture, poetry, and newly composed music.
Introduced by Rev Lucy Winkett, the evening unfolded through scenes from scripture, brought to life with rich music and interludes of stillness, enabling deep personal reflection and spiritual insight.

The event attracted a large live audience, was livestreamed, and is expected to reach many more through its recording. Audience members described it as spiritually profound and artistically exceptional.
As Rev Lucy reflected: “There were some people who said to me that was going to be the highlight of their Holy Week and it had really spoken to them.”
This project exemplifies CAT’s commitment to supporting high-quality, faith-filled storytelling through professional artistry and sacred performance.
