Held at St Pancras Church, Euston, Ritual/Bodies was a bold live performance event exploring Christian ritual, embodiment, and artistic expression. Curated by Kate Pickering and supported by the Christian Arts Trust, the event formed part of the Religion and Art Live series from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Bringing together eight artists from the Mystic Voices research group, Ritual/Bodies offered new perspectives on Christian themes through performance. From a mystical sermon to a playful communion, the works were visually rich, spiritually resonant, and rooted in tradition—while boldly exploring faith through a contemporary lens.
A panel discussion, featuring theologians, curators, and art historians, deepened the conversation around ritual, community, and the role of the artist in reimagining Christian embodiment.

The event drew a diverse audience—artists, students, churchgoers, and passersby—many of whom engaged actively in discussion. As a free, public celebration of sacred art, it transformed the church into a vibrant cultural space.
By supporting academic and artistic collaborations like Ritual/Bodies, CAT helps to renew the Christian visual tradition for new generations—sparking dialogue, deepening understanding, and reanimating sacred spaces with beauty, inquiry, and hope.
