The Christian Arts Trust was delighted to support the annual ‘Edinburgh Festival of the Sacred Arts’ in hosting a unique Floral Festival entitled In the Steps of the Master: Jesus and the Landscape.
Held over several days in the historic and atmospheric Old St Paul’s Church in central Edinburgh – and officially part of the Edinburgh Fringe – this imaginative exhibition exceeded expectations. As the only flower festival among hundreds of Fringe events, it attracted around 600 visitors, many of whom had travelled considerable distances.
This beautiful and often-overlooked form of Christian artistic expression was presented free of charge, reflecting the Trust’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion, and was generously supported by visitor donations.
The festival celebrated not only floral artistry but also the Trust’s wider mission: encouraging fresh interpretations of Christian themes through the arts, inspiring spiritual reflection, and enriching public engagement with the Christian tradition.
An organ recital, a performance of Duruflé’s Requiem, and a musical High Mass further united visual and musical arts in a deeply moving expression of faith, beauty, and the sacred.
