Abby trained in acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama after a degree in English Literature at the University of Sheffield.
She spent 16 months touring various plays with Riding Lights Theatre Company, followed by a longer stretch learning from Rob Lacey (author of The Street Bible) whilst performing, writing and directing for Lacey Theatre Company.
In the years that followed, she took part in a variety of performance work – regional repertory theatre, voiceover, presenting and audio books. She also taught dance and drama to children of all ages.
Abby’s first book, ‘The Word of the Wives’, is a collection of monologues from biblical wags and toured successfully as a one-woman show. She went on to produce and appear in ‘The God Particle’, a sci-fi rom-com from writer James Cary. It toured and then sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe. The show now lives on with a new cast.
When she isn’t writing or performing, or looking after her son, Abby works for Spring Harvest. It’s a large, multi-denominational Christian worship and teaching event, where she plans programme content and creative schemes.
